Ladies and gentlemen, the Bootleg Beatles!!!!
Ever since I was a kid, I already had an ear for The Beatles. Up to this day, my dad would always play their songs on his stereo, and if i get unlucky, I get to witness him singing sexily (ewww) to my mom while twirling her around the dance floor a.k.a the living room. Well, obviously, as I grew older I became more in love with them. To be able to visit Beatle-landia and Liverpool itself is one of my greatest dreams!
When I saw the billboard of the Bootleg Beatles coming to Davao, I literally screamed *still screaming inside my head every time I think about it* my lungs out inside the car!!! I honestly thought I was going to run out of oxygen from that unbelievable moment but wait- I have to be alive to be able to watch the concert.
I know, I know, they're not the real Beatles, but my dad, who's also a massive fan told me they were genuinely good, no- they were really really good! Their concert was set on January 18 too, on my birth month and 10 days before my birthday. It was all meant to be.

I had class before the concert and I lived far from SMX so I had to bring the cake to school. It was a bad decision because it smelt so good I was almost tempted to eat it! |
|
My cake!! They featured my cake on both screens (the other screen was on the opposite side) before the concert started. I had a hard time persuading the staff to deliver it to their dressing room but eventually someone fell into my trap (well there was no trap actually, I just really really really really had to convince them 9999x and it worked!! Yaaaas haha) |

|
Here are some of the photos from the concert. I only brought my phone with me, so please bear with the not-so-good quality:
|
I was sitting on the 4th row from the center stage!!! |
|
During "Twist and Shout", a lot of people from the audience stood up and twisted to the song! It was funny hahaha |
|
"I am the Walrus"!!!!!! |
|
Every one in the audience stood up and sang with the band in "All We Need is Love" |
|
I was a bit emotional with the background they chose here. It was the actual Beatles' last live performance huhu |
|
Paul and John! |
|
George and Ringo! |
In the middle of the show, George and the rest of the band thanked me (I still cant believe it) for the cake and had the audience give me a round of applause! I had it filmed but our internet connection is bad right nao. I'll try to upload it this weekend!
xxxx
The Bootleg Beatles were a m a z i n g!!! They sounded so authentic and looked so much like the Beatle boys (as what I've seen from photos and concert videos)!! If there was no one in the room I swear I was going to cry from extreme happiness. They were remarkable!!! They changed their looks and suits too as they performed and summed up the legendary decade of Beatle fame.
|
Amidst the chaos, I had myself taken an awkward photo haha |
|
The huge smile plastered on my face is enough evidence of the fun night I had! |
I had so much fun that night!! I was singing and dancing and singing
more and dancing more and did a bit of screaming too. The Beatles was a
legendary english rock band that rose to fame in the early 1960's, so the crowd was
primarily composed of older adults. I wanted to stand up and dance and
sing loudly with the band, but I had to act classy for the older folks,
so I had to put a leash on myself from my seat to prevent further
youthful embarrassment.
On my Bootleg Beatles cake:
- I saw a similar design of the cake on google :)
- I had it customized from Ate Chef Cakes and Pastries by Ms. Joymarie Gutierrez Prenda. I love her cakes and how she never disappoints my expectations as a customer. She also designed my nephew's baptismal cupcakes last June 2012 and his 1st birthday cake 5 months later! Don't forget to check out her designs/cakes on her facebook page!
Yeah Yeah Yeah!!
