Food Blog: Home Avenue Cake Galerie

Home Avenue Cake Galerie is truly a hidden gem! I couldn’t believe it is only a few walks (okay, maybe a tricycle ride is recommended for a lazy ass like me hehe) from my alma mater! Nevertheless, I fell in love with the fact that it is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The noise-induced environment added a bit of a calm aura to the pastry shop.

Cake Galerie opened last July 2010. The shop has a unique mixture of a Japanese/Korean vibe in its interior and a bit of European on the outside. Everything is super student-budget-friendly! One can enjoy a slice of cake for only less than a hundred pesos. The milkshakes are definitely a must-try!

What we ordered:
  •  Carrot cake for 63Php
  • Red Velvet cake for 63Php
  • Apple Streusel Pie with additional Vanilla ice cream for 83Php
  • Blueberry cheesecake for  58Php
  • ChocoMarsh milkshake for 55Php
  • White Moo (Vanilla milkshake) for 70Php

Trust me, the cakes look and taste finer in real life. But, if the zombie apocalypse is on its way I might as well consider eating these mouth-watering photos.

I was surprised with the White Moo milkshake’s taste. It was certainly not the usual vanilla milkshake! The taste was not too much and it wasn’t too less either. I couldn’t seem to detach my mouth from the straw- yes, it was that good that I actually thought of dehydrating myself the next day so I could go back and order for more White Moo’s! Haha

How awesome is this polaroid souvenir?

I asked the owner/baker, Ms. Charisse, a few questions on how she came up with the idea of starting a pastry shop. She was a college graduate with a degree in Entrepreneurship and proceeded to CACS to develop her passion in culinary. She also attended several workshops to hone her baking skills. Moreover, she explained to us that whilst her pastries are affordable, it doesn’t mean their ingredients are cheaper. Aside from the fact that her pastry shop is right next to her home, she makes her own recipes, too! Thus, she bakes and makes everything available on her menu. And oh- she accepts MTO cakes as well!
